Ingredients:
For the dough:
– 2 cups crushed pretzels
– 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
– 1/4 cup granulated sugar
For the caramel layer:
– 1 cup brown sugar
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter
– 1/4 cup whipping cream
– 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the chocolate frosting:
– 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
– 1/2 cup white chocolate (optional for decoration)

Procedure:
1. Prepare the dough:** Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Press mixture into a greased 9 x 9 inch (23 x 23 cm) baking pan. Bake for 8-10 minutes, then let cool.
2. Prepare the caramel layer:** In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, and whipping cream over medium heat. Stir constantly until mixture begins to boil. Cook for 4-5 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Pour caramel evenly over cooled pretzel base. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
3. Add the chocolate topping:** In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips, heating in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Spread the melted chocolate over the caramel layer. If using white chocolate, drizzle over the topping.
4. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until the caramel has set. Cut into cubes and enjoy!
